anySIM 1.1 Released — Free iPhone Unlock for 1.1.1!

Posted by greg

The iPhone Dev Team has released their free [software] unlocking solution for iPhone’s running 1.0.2 and 1.1.1. This particular version is intended for phones which have not been tampered with; meaning, if you have unlocked previously, DO NOT attempt an update thinking you’re able to re-unlock afterwards — it won’t work.

Only use anySIM 1.1 with an iPhone that has been shipped with 1.0.2 or 1.1.1, or updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1, but remains locked.

Please note that this version works only on VIRGIN 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 phones. We are working on a re-virginizer. DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY UNLOCKED WITH ANYSIM 1.0.

If you’re like me who used a previous version of anySIM, wait until the team has completed their re-virginizer; that will restore your iPhone’s cherry to a factory default state. Unless of course, you already know what you’re doing (see here, and here).

Props team! Another job well done.

once you’ve re-virginized your phone or you already have a virgin phone, then yes

Are you still required to Jailbreak?

wow thats crazy the fact that you need to revirginize the phone, i thought a simple restore of 1.0.2 and a update of 1.1.1 would take care of it.

i have said before that a restore or even reflashing od the bb doesnt fix what anysim has broken…such as the nvram…

Hi there,

I hava an Iphone with 1.0.2 Firmware. Still unpacked in its original packing.

1. Can I use the new Anysim Version on this phone?

2. I´d like to have 1.1.1 on the phone. Can I just activate with Ndependance and the upgrade to 1.1.1, then activate again and the use Anysim?

3. Can I upgrade to 1.1.1 before acitvating?

Thanks for your comments

Michael

Michael,
Id recomend using independance now that your iphone is in 1.0.2 , activate it, do the necessary preperations (using independance ofcourse)

then, DO NOT UNLOCK…

go to 1.1.1, jailbreak it, AND THEN UNLOCK, using the new AnySIM.app …

hope this helps…

remember: DO NOT UNLOCK while on 1.0.2

Hi,
thanks for the quick reply!
I am trying to work me through all this stuff here!
How do you recommend to go to 1.1.1? Via iNdependance?
Is it correct that the latest iNdependance version is only running on Intel Macs?
Is iNdependace doing all the stuff (activating, jailbraking an updating to 1.1.1)?

Thanxs again

Michael

if im not correct, when you use independance to activate/jailbreak the phone, it shows you exactly what to do.. just download independance first and then just follow the instructions onscreen…

as far as the combatibility, im not quite sure if it works only on intel macs cuz im using a standard PC, (running windows, grrr)… as far as i know, it only works with intel macs…

also, independance activates/jailbrakes the iphone but it DOESNT UNLOCK it…

I tried to unlocked my VIRGIN iphone 1.1.1 with the same unlock method for 1.0.2 (with anySIM) and get the following result…
iPhone run on 1.0.2 with baseband 04.02.04_G.
iPhone was able to call/sms/surf safari & even youtube. But was unable to install installer 2.63.
I will update you guys after tested it in details…
Anyway, what can I update the file onto the net. (I wanna upload the EASY UNLOCK method (in Layman Term i used, just in case, other noob need it)

Desmond, when you tried to unlock your OTB 1.1.1 I am assuming that you used the old anysim that wouldnt unlock because you had the 1.1.1 baseband(04.02.04_G). What I have been trying to figure out is if I can still safely restore to the original 1.1.1 because I have already run the old anysim with no success?

I unlocked my iphone (1.1.1) in just three steps…

1st: Run ibrick 0.91 and follow the instruction. It will downgrade to 1.0.2 with baseband 04.01.13_G.

2nd: Run Activate.bat (just a click only & it auto activate the iphone with youtube patch)

3rd: Run ibrick 0.91 again to install Installer 2.63, Community Sources & anySIM 1.1.

Last: Click anySIM 1.1 to unlock the 1.1.1 iphone
