Easier than chicken pot pie is an extremely simple method to jailbreak and get Installer.app on your 1.1.1 iPhone, for real…
A number of hackers — metasploit, rezn, dinopio, drudge, kroo, pumpkin, davidc, dunham, and NerveGas — have created and launched jailbreakme.com. While the Safari exploit remains unpatched, we’ll remain with a one-step solution to fully unleash the iPhone in all its glory. This works on the iPod Touch also.
The only prerequisite is an activated phone with working Wi-Fi; I typically fake activation using iNdependence. This isn’t necessary for iPod Touch owners.
AppSnapp feature list:
- Jailbreaks iPhone/iPod Touch on 1.1.1
- Patches Springboard to load third party apps
- Activates non-AT&T iPhones automatically, while leaving already activated phones alone
- Fixes YouTube on non-AT&T iPhones automatically, while leaving already activated phones alone

I can confirm this works 100% and is by far the easiest jailbreak solution out there!

And I can confirm this too.
But will warn 1.1.2 out on friday will brick your phones if you do this.
So I hope you like bricks.

Hey Steve…lol…great phone…I’m really enjoying this in Canada without such a hefty phone plan.
This does work like a charm…great way to get the newest apptapp installer on your 1.1.1 iphone. Took only moments for me…mine was already unlocked and jailbroken thru independence.
I recently purchased an iPhone and have been surfing the net for the last two weeks about modding it, and I have come to a conclusion:
There is no good all-in-one knowledge base for doing so. The information is scattered all across the web, on a bunch of sites, which is bad for trying to solve problems. So I decided to create a Group to serve this purpose.

I just created it within the last hour, so there isn’t much activity, but I’m hoping some people will stumble upon it and start filling it with info.
Just thought I’d let you know, maybe you can join, and add some of your expertise.

This site solves your problems…have you checked the forums here? Some of the most helpful people are already on here…as pretty much all iphone groups are relatively new…you should give this a chance before creating your own group and advertising here for people to go to yours….just my opinion…good luck with your site though….
k so now it works great on my phone…however now i dont know how to put wallpapers into my media folder so they show up in my wallpaper section and my ringtones are gone now…..i was using ifuntastic 3. watever and the new 4.6 doesnt recognize my iphone as unshackeld therefore no file access…..any suggestions?
F-it i unshackled by downgrading and then upgrading again….anyone know if i have to re-patch my tiff exploit since its already been patched when i did the appsnap?

apps are a lil buggy, im gonna try restoring it and see if it fixes it..
FYI, installed on my 4gb iPhone. It made my phone run like crap, locked up constantly, ran extremely slow, etc.. Flashed back to 1.1.1 and everything normal. Decided to give it a second go, same thing, but this time I was able to launch Installer.app without locking up the phone (running really slow though.) Installer said It had an upgrade available. I managed to get that installed, reboot, and now everything works fine. Go figure.
I can no longer synch my iPhone iTunes after doing a jailbreak with this method! Anyone has a similar problem?
