Simple iPhone Downgrade Instructions

Posted by greg

Need to downgrade your iPhone for whatever reason? Perhaps in preparation for a 1.1.2 jailbreak or SIM unlock. Here is a simple howto:

  1. Enter DFU mode: power + home for 10 seconds, then home for another 10 seconds. The phone will remain completely back. If not, repeat. iNdependence will also do this step.
  2. Select the desired firmware you’re downgrading to; those can be obtained below.
  3. In iTunes hold Option/ALT (on a Mac) or Shift (on Windows) and click “Restore.” Select the ipsw you downloaded.
  4. At the end of the process you will receive an error; this is normal.
  5. Get IPHUC below and issue the following commands:
    • cmd setenv auto-boot true
    • cmd saveenv
    • cmd fsboot

Congratulations — you just downgraded!

you on Windows or Mac? On a Mac, open a Terminal. Use Finder to locate “Terminal.app.” It’s under Applications. Change directory (cd) to wherever you have extracted the iphuc package. Connect your iPhone via USB and execute ./iphuc.

Download this http://www.iphone-hacks.com/downloads/file/71

On 1.1.1 run okprep

Download 1.1.2 http://www.iphone-hacks.com/downloads/file/69 and click shift key + restore on iTunes. After restore is completed, run iphuc from the initial folder that you downloaded from link 1 (not the stand alone iphuc download that has only 2 folders) and run these commands:
“cmd setenv auto-boot true”
“cmd saveenv”
“cmd fsboot”

Go back on itunes and you are done. Let me know if it works.

The jailbreak.jar isn’t detecting my iPhone. Anyone else running into this problem?

Reboots and restarts aren’t helping.

Click start then click run. Type cmd and hit [Enter] then type the commands.
* setenv auto-boot true
* saveenv
* fsboot
Hit enter after every * to run that command. I have not done this yet (i get a iphone to try it on Monday) but cmd only works in the command prompt.

U do not have an att signal, but U can connect wifi. Go on safari to jailbreakme.com, scroll to bottom and install installer…unlock fone again and now U will have installer.app on there. Go in there and install the oktoprep. There are instructions out there, try follow ‘em in detail, and it’l work

Is it possible to downgrade straight from version 1.1.2 to 1.0.2? I am familiar with the old steps, I can jailbreak once I have 1.0.2. Anyone please clarify. Thanks very much!
