Geohot has done did it again with a complete software unlock for out-of-the-box iPhone’s running 1.1.2/1.1.3.
Instructions are provided within the RAR archive. The procedure involves downgrading back to system software 1.0.2; however, Geohot notes that other versions may work. See here for [older] downgrade instructions. Put your phone into DFU mode to allow the software restore/downgrade; I use iNdependence for that.

I just bought an iphone sealed. OTB It is 1.1.2
I havent activated it yet. Is there a way I can avoid activating through itunes and still be able to unlock and have full functionality?

Yes you can…. read some guides as it seems to me you are quite inexperienced about this topic.
Best way is to downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, oktoprep, upgrade 1.1.2, jailbreak and then unlock!
STILL NO JOY FOR THE THOUSANDS OF US WHO RESTORED TO 1.1.3 THROUGH ITUNES DUE TO THE CRAP 1.1.3 JAILBREAK NOW WE NEED A 1.1.3 UNLOCK AND JAILBREAK
we needed the 04.03.13_g baseband hacked and unlocked for turbosims etc before all this 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 out of the box unlock really wish you had spend that many hours on that instead thousands more people would of apprecaited it more mate
Steve if you did some research you would have seen that the unlock method also applies to 04.03.13 baseband…
It’s not like iphone-hacks is the only website dedicated to unlockin the iphone…

there is a simple way is right on your installer. downgrade your OTB 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 then do the jailbreakme thing then in installer install bsd subsystem and then go again on installer and go to tweaks 1.1.3 and install OTB unlock ( it will be the only thing on there rung it then get out from installer and go back in). now in installer u have to find the source site that has the jailbreak softupgrade 1.1.3 and let it run for about 15 minutes. once finish u will have a full unlock 1.1.3
the installer app. is non-existent in otb 1.1.2 or in 1.1.3 iphones.get your facts right mate!
welll my dear non reading friend. we all know how to put the installer there, don’t need to baby repeat what this great site has explain again just read my friend and you will be amaze. but if you need to be walk on your stroller i will be more than helpful.
once i restored through itunes there is no way on this earth u can get it back to 1.1.2 anyway only 1.1.1 jailbreaked tried about 10 times now so looks like its going to have to bve unlocked from 1.1.1 jailbreaked with 04.03.13 also another problem if u softupgrade to 1.1.3 installer has errors on everything u want to install so u cant install bsd systems etc

I suggest you do some more reading? I believe installer had a recent update so you might consider that as well…
And if u jailbreak 1.1.1 u can update to 1.1.2 and then jailbreak again (forgot name of the tool, iNdependence for mac)
got it all done on o2 but then i synced phone lost network signal turbosim not working so i re did all again 4 times but when i get to jailbreak the 1.1.2 its says u have to run oktaprep have ran it not stupid so now stuck on 1.1.1 jailbreaked cant go to 1.1.2 cos it wont jailbreak yes yes intalled open ssh and bds still no joy
so wif i upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 (jailbreaked does any one known will turbosim work
right i upgraded from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 via itunes duh i no im downgrading back to 1.1.1 well trying and when i use independence to get me out of recovery mode i get error cant get call backs from iphone now i think this is bcoz independence doesnt work with 1.1.3 so whats this all about thx

Done… 3 iphones successfully unlocked. the thing is that it is easier to just downgrade to 1.1.1, go to installer, run the official unlocker, then go back to 1.1.2, or 1.1.3 and that’s it…
1.1.3 why would anyone want to do that its crap installer has a big problems off script error cant intall nothing or uninstall nothing summerbaord wont work many other problem i will be waiting for 1.1.4 and a proper jailbreak
