ZiPhone 2.4 Released! *Updated*

Posted by greg

Update: Hitting more frequent than quick pick lotto… ZiPhone v2.3 is out! Details in the README.

Update: 2.2 bug fix release… Grab it below.

Update: Another day, another ZiPhone release — version 2.1 comin’ in hot… Changes include:

  • corrected the “apple logo bug”
  • removed -v option; ZiPhone now uses verbose mode by default
  • added integrity check on zibri.dat
  • added 2 .BAT files for windows
  • updated README.txt
  • the Windows GUI and OS X versions were not updated; but will work so long as you don’t specify -v

Update: I should mention ZiPhone v2.0 repaired the iPhone mentioned in this post; the one unable to receive calls. Solid app, cheers.

Update: ZiPhone 2.0 is out now. Quoting Zibri, “…the command line version, you will find a new option ‘-b’ be very careful with that! I take no responsibility if you brick your phone! ZiPhone -b will downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9, flash 4.03.13_G baseband version and unlock it (in one shot!).”

Experiencing difficulties with previous activation, jailbreak, and unlock methods? No longer! Forget all that tedious nonsense and enter Zibri’s ZiPhone. For real, it doesn’t get any easier than this…

Bypass activation and jailbreak any iPhone OS version. Unlock whatever baseband on boot loader 3.9 and 4.6 — that means 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 OOTB (out-of-the-box) also work! Just connect your phone via USB and run the app. It’s mentioned ZiPhone will revive many “dead” basebands too; so if you messed up a previous attempt, this will likely solve that issue.

Both Windows and Mac versions available.

Kudos to everyone involved making this possible.

I’ve upgraded to 1.1.3 and jailbroke it but now I can’t transfer rented movies to my phone it works untill the end of the transfer, and then the whole movie erases at the end and a box pops up saying that you must be connected to the Internet to transfer rented movies and I am connected to the Internet. I even tried doing it on my friends jailbroke iPhone and the same thing happened I used ziphone to jailbreak. Any advice?

I have a 1.02 that I unlocked using Unlock. I have never upgraded. i would like to upgrade to 1.13. What would be the best way to do this? Should I revirginize, upgrade to 1.13 through Itunes and then run this program, or could I just upgrade a unlocked 1.02 to 1.13 then use this method?

ok first you need to put the phone in dfu mode to be able to make itunes reconize it again, right after you will restore to 1.1.3 and use ziphone and you will be happy again. first turn your iphone on and when the apple logo is on the screen hold the power and home buttons at the same time for 4 secs and let go of the power and keep holding the home button also make sure you have it connected to the pc all this time is easier to tell when u have to let go of the home button cause u will hear windows reconize the usb again after that u will see you are on restore mode and can bring back your dear friend to life again. after restore you will have the activation screen on the iphone just run ziphone and you will be ok.

ok people i can now make calls again all i had to do is downgrade back to 1.1.1 then restore to 1.1.3 on itunes clean and every theing came back to life and if u want to jailbreak 1.1.3 to use installer just use ziphone 2.2 and hit jailbreak and u will see the installer yayyyyyyyyy :)

2008-02-16 13:34:41

even if you see the apple logo you still have to keep both button pressed until you see the logo asking to connect to itunes. i ran in the same problem and i thought i fucked up mine also bc I always kept on releasing the buttons after the phone reset, but you need to hold them longer until you see the recovery and then use ziphone

I was wondering. I have an unlocked 1.1.1, do I have to update to 1.1.3 with Itunes prior to running ziphone? Will I have problems while updating to 1.1.3 if I have to do that?

Comment by good fella
2008-02-17 14:45:01

yes you have to update to 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 and i recommend you go and download the firmware from the download section on this site then put your iphone in DFU mode and press shift+Restore and navigate to the update and then just wait for it to update and jailbreak/unlock using ziphone

Well, I’m f’d up. I tried to dfu mode my unlocked 1.1.1 and connect to itunes to update to 1.1.3. It failded the update, like it used to say when we used to do the old update style. Failed but still done. Well, I did the full automatic.bat and it said wait 4 minutes, well, 15 minutes later, no change in anything, so I quit the program to do it again. now my phone only loads terminal code, unable to go to dfu mode. Now what????

2008-02-18 13:57:03

Well as a follow up to my devestation. I gave my phone to my friend to try a futile attempt to fix it on his mac, I was using PC. Well, he brought it back 10 minutes later factory fresh, with 1.1.3 on it. I reluctantly used ziphone again, 10 minutes later, I had a activated, jailbroken and unlocked iphone, and a happy person again :)

well since you dont know what a command prompt is i would recommand you get 2.4 click on FULL AUTOMATIC.bat file if you want to (jailbreak, unlock, activate) or if you want to just (activate and jailbreak) the FULL AUTOMATIC (NO UNLOCK).bat file make sure you restore your phone to 1.1.3 first

check the 4th and 5th digits of your serial number if it is 42 and below then you have a 3.9 and if it is 44 you might have a 4.6 and if it is above 44 then it is 4.6 but ZiPhone will work with whatever bootloader you have

My iPhone crashed and I could not get it to reboot, it just hangs on the apple logo.

I reloaded my iPhone to 1.1.4 and used latest ZiPhone kit {after purchasing it :-)} to unlock and jailbreak the phone and it worked!

I am absolutley thrilled at the ease of use ZiPhone is built with for unlocking an iPhone.

The current problem I am experiencing is that iTunes is not picking up my iPhone? Please can you advice me what to do, thanks.
