At last — copy & paste support for Mobile Safari!

Preston’s iCopy is installed as a bookmark utilizing JavaScript to enable copy/paste between websites. Before using iCopy, please make yourself aware of the pros and cons listed below. Namely the copying & pasting of sensitive data is a big no no; iCopy sends pasted text across the Internet in order to function properly. Nonetheless, awesome work.

Demonstration video:

Pros:

  • You can copy and paste almost any text on the page.
  • You can email a friend a great web page you found. Emailed text retains its HTML formatting including absolute links and images.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t work with every page (mostly pages with frames).
  • When pasting it is required to reload the page.
  • The text you paste is added to the URL and sent across the Internet. This is VERY INSECURE so be sure not to copy and paste important private information.

To install iCopy — follow the instructions here.
