So, I paid $600 for an 8 gig iPhone and Apple decides to sell them for $200 now. And now I can’t sell my iPhone for $400 or so because people will know you can get a brand new one for $200. Thanks, dickholes.
…watch your back Steve Trabajos.
Yeah, that kinda sucks, i hope many people sue Apple and then they give us early adopters a discount on the new iphone :)
Well you could ’still’ profit on Craigslist or ebay if the 3G iPhones sell out for a long time and become just as popular as the old models…
New Technology is ALWAYS expensive and will ALWAYS lower their price in the future.
SOLD!
so the new 3g iphone can it be ziphoned? is it gona be 2.0 firmware?
At this point, we don’t know ALL the details bout how the iPhone is gonna work, it is gonna have 2.0 firmware which is to be released soon for ALL iPhone owners….but word has it the iPhone 3G will NOT be sold online….not on Apple.com or AT&T web store. Upon purchasing the iPhone 3G, you HAVE to sign up with AT&T right then and there….as of right now, there will be no purchasing and taking home to activate…Now, If you go to an AT&T store and tell them you want a ToGo phone and are willing to pay the $399 price, they MIGHT let you do that….As of right now, all the details of the iPhone 3G purchasing details are not out yet….
IPHONE 2 is free to existing O2 iphone customers providing that they sign up to another 18 month contract on @ least the £45 a month contract otherwise its £99 on the £30 or £35 a month contract this is on o2 website and i have also confirmed this with o2s customer service dept
you get to keep the old iphone also happy days i think
I’m surprised of a few things…no additional memory, still maxed out at 16gb…the camera is still the same and fact that there’s still no flash. Not only for the camera but it could be used as a flashlight. I miss my Sony Ericcson for that.
They’re also trying to minimize unlocking the phone by selling it inhouse and activating it at the time of purchase. I might wait…my unlocked 8gig is still awesome…the only thing tempting me is the built in gps…how much are those Tom Tom units again?
From what i’ve read online, the $199 is with 2 year contract and i’ve heard u can get it for $399 w/o a contract….why would they sell w/o a contract unless u were using it as a GoPhone….or unlocked??….plus Firmware 2.0 is going to be released to ALL iPhone owners…which means not just 3G users will be taking a crack at unlocking it…but everyone will be able to….i predict the firmware being cracked in a week…..i mean, it was supposed to be the “tightest” security ever on a phone when it came out, and look how fast it got cracked, now people at least have a “feel” for the iPhone and some of the security it uses, so unless Apple TOTALLY rewrote the source, then it will be cracked FAST….
