Rogers Announces Canadian iPhone Rate/Data Plans

The title says it, and the following shows it:

  • $60/month. 150 minutes + unlimited evenings/weekends, 400 MB Data, 75 SMS sent, unlimited incoming SMS
  • $75/month. 300 minutes + unlimited evenings/weekends, 750 MB Data, 100 SMS sent, unlimited incoming SMS
  • $100/month. 600 minutes + unlimited evenings/weekends, 1 GB Data, 200 SMS sent, unlimited incoming SMS
  • $115/month. 800 minutes + unlimited evenings/weekends, 2 GB Data, 300 SMS sent, unlimited incoming SMS

Furthermore, add a value pack and receive the following:

  • $15/month: Call Display, WhoCalled, Caller Ring Trax, 2,500 Sent Text Messages and 2,500 Call Forwarding Minutes
  • $20/month: Call Display, WhoCalled, Caller Ring Trax,10,000 Sent Text Messages and Fido Evenings starting at 5:00 p.m. and 2,500 Call Forwarding Minutes.

Not bad considering their previous data plans were a joke.

The data plan is getting better but it’s still far from good…I never justified browsing the internet on an older model cell phone…I never needed to that badly. The iphone’s browser is very close to a pc/mac browser which makes it worth while to use. The only unfortunate thing is this…you get the basic phone plan…tack on an xtra $15 for the call display and texting usage…add all the taxes/admin fees/911 fee etc…you’re looking at almost $100/month!

Thank goodness for unlocked phones…I don’t need gps that badly…but it is good to see it ‘officially’ in Canada tho!

I have 1000 minutes, Unltd txt, Unltd data, free nights n weekends…all for $75 :)

With my unlocked iphone plan…I’ve got 450 minutes unltd nights/weekends for $25…a few months ago I added a texting plan for $6 more and wifi is always free…go 2.5G iphones!

i don’t know about other but it seems that we WILL be able to buy the iphone 3g here in the us and activate it at home, just look here i managed to talk to an apple expert and she not knowing might of spilled the kirbys!!!

What fucking sucks is that this is terrible! You can get a plan much better than this. My current plan is 500 weekday minutes, free evenings from 6PM, free weekends, unlimited text, caller ID, and voicemail for $25/month. Rogers also has a plan for free unlimited data access for an extra $5/month. This plan is such a goddamn ripoff it’s ridculous.

Thank God Apple is letting you keep your current plan for use on the iPhone. Hell, My plan will be twice as good for 1/2 the price
