July 19, 2008PwnageTool 2.0 Errors Surface

There have been many reports of errors abound for the iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool 2.0. Jailbreaking and Unlocking EDGE iPhones running 2.0 seems to be working quite well for most, but jailbreaking the iPhone 3G seems to be the largest cause of complaints.
Some report the application not even launching properly but most are having problems with either iTunes installing the new firmware or PwnageTool’s creation of the firmware file. The team has been making updates to their blog. We will make sure to keep you up to date with what is going on. Hopefully these problems will get sorted out quickly.

i created the ispw for my touch on mac os, constantly failed to enter DFU mode, so I put it on a thumb drive and updated on Vista. Apps and Cydia work just fine.
Used my Mac to have the custom ispw, enter DFU mode easily but had error restoring using the custom .ispw created, Got Error(6). Cant go back to 1.1.4 , get error 1602, 1601, 20 on doing that .
Got a BRICK.
Should probably wait for an easier method, maybe soemthing by Zibri…:)

If you get Error 1600 from iTunes, try: mkdir “~/Library/iTunes/Device Support” ; if that directory already exists, remove any files in it. Then re-run PwnageTool.
what if it doesn’t even open? :(
rushed release installer wont wont and no app work with cydia what a waste of time for all us 3 g users so really no jailbreak out as today for 3g yet
1G 2.0 5A347 version user on (vista ultimate 64 system)
everything gone and disapear(all serial#) but apple logo on restore mode! :/ showing none stop restore icon wait for 12 hours but it never did restore anything!) :..( HELP PLEASE!! my heart is broke,what a painful week!
