iPhone gamers rejoice Zdziarski has released the latest version of his must have iPhone NES emulator NES.app v2.3.0 for use with iPhone firmware v2.0. The big news with this release is the added support for the iPhone’s accelerometer allowing a whole new game play experience.

NES.app Castlevania

You can install the application via Cydia or do it yourself by downloading it from our iPhone downloads section under ‘Games’ or follow this direct link: Download NES.app v2.3.0

Accelerometer gameplay review from gizmodo:

controlling Mario is fairly natural, though quick turns and exact jumps are difficult to execute (playing Mario with the stock controls is often worse, though). Bomberman sort of works, but in that case—and many others—the old touch control overlay is much easier. Obviously none of these games were designed with tilt control in mind, but a surprising number are at least playable.
