If you’ve been desperately waiting for Summerboard to be ported to firmware 2.0, you’re not alone, a clever iphone dev has replaced Summerboard with WinterBoard. Just like Summerboard, Winterboard gives you the ability to change the home screen (springboard) wallpaper, home screen icons, status bar, everything else Summerboard was able to do.
To Install:
- Fire up Cydia
- Tap on Sections
- Scroll down to Themes
- Find Winterboard and Install it
- Reboot your iPhone
In addition, Themes can be SSH’d to your iPhone to /var/mobile/Library/Summerboard/Themes. If you don’t know how to SSH into your iPhone go Here for a quick tutorial from our forum mod, killacam13.

is there a place where we can see pics of each theme so we don’t have to install theme one by one to see what they look like?
Thank god for this app. Customize was a big mess of half finished software that was pretty hard to work with. – Not that Winterboard is finished, but it works right the first time and didn’t require me to use terminal to command line hack my iphone to make things happen.
To preview, click “More Information” when viewing the theme in Cydia, just before you click install.
Most themes have a preview there.
winterboard currently does not seem to let you change the statusbar.
How do you do this. I have installed it. Rebooted my phone but for some reason – I cant get it to take. thanks

I’ve downloaded the winterboard it appears on me main screen but when i click on any theme i’ve downloaded nothing happens… Why does that happens!? How so i fix it?
Ohh.. And can i use the themes that i’ve downloaded from the installer or is it only cydia themes!?
The bloody thing knackered my dialler… As soon as I go to make a phonecall, the dialler opens, waits and crashes. No number dialling at all for me. Now I’ve gotta bloody restore.

Hello, need some advice….
while updating Cydia, i got some updates… 2 actually, some app and a “mobile substrate” and I update them at the same time… and then all the iPhone was “substrated”… and have to take it to a technician friend of mine to fix it…. and he told me “don’t update anything from cydia, but if you do, BE CAREFULL”….
Now, the thing is my iPhone is back!, and im tempted to install Winterboard, because I want to have a “different look” on it!. When I press “install”, takes me to the “confirm” page… in “Modifications” appears “Mobile Substrate Winterboard”. As you can see the nightmare is there….!
Can I install the Winterboard app? or my phone will crash again, and go again to an “I.C.U.”????….

Accedently I remove saurik source and winterboard .
Now I want to reinstall but in cydia both r not available. N my phone is in safemode.
