You may already know if you’ve launched iTunes recently, that Apple has released a new iPhone System Software Update 2.0.1. This update is just a bug fix patch and gives no new features. Always when a brand new update is released, if you are using an unlocked or jailbroken iPhone it is recommended that you ignore the update until different dev groups have time to update their tools.

I hope this isn’t a monthly update, as hackers are going to have field days upgrading to the latest firmware all the time…sigh
2.0.1 does in fact undo jailbreaking. I’m not sure if it actually removes the apps and files you installed (since shh is disabled I cant check), but they no longer show up on the spring board.
I don’t mind waiting for it to be jailbroken as long as they fixed the bugs where my Ipod Touch would freeze and these yellow splotches would appear all over the screen when I’m watching vids. It only happens with 2.0 for me.

What a dude. I’m sticking to 1.1.4 for now but please download his app and have a go if you are on 2.0. Drop any comments and feedback you might have. Note you may want to use google translate or other to view his blog…

edit/ from what I can see the same changes to get English version apply (i.e. delete Japanese.lproj folder and amend ‘ja’ in Info.plist to ‘en’). I will also stick up a ths beta test version on my repo for download, though Im not sure how this repo functions on 2.0… let me know how you get on if you do try it…
