Reports have been coming in that users who paid to have their iPhone unlocked by their carrier Vodafone are now experiencing this insightful error message when they try to make a call “0xE8000001″. If you are a Vodafone user and paid to have your phone unlocked legitimately it is recommended you wait to upgrade to 2.0.1 while this issue is being sorted out. Vodafone serves the following countries:

  • Australia
  • The Czech Republic
  • Egypt
  • Greece
  • Italy
  • India
  • Portugal
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Turkey

If you upgraded your unlocked iPhone you should be able to restore it back to v2.0 which you can find here: iPhone Firmware Downloads
