Hot on the heels of PwnageTool 2.0.2 comes RipDev’s WinPwn 2.0.0.4 with support for iPhone firmware 2.0.1. Currently their site is down so many people are having trouble getting the files. Well as always you can grab right here: Download WinPwn 2.0.0.4.
- Support for both 1.1.4, 2.0, 2.0.1
- Root partition resize support
- Installer support
- Support for WinXP and Vista 32/64bit.
Notes:
- You MUST do a full uninstall of winpwn before installing the new version
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes ( Currently 7.7)
- WinPwn uses 300MB of ram at peak due to the ipsw being extracted in memory
- You must first click browse and load an IPSW to use WinPwn (i thought this was clear)
- For 2.0 only the *5A347_Restore.ipsw files are valid. The 345 image will not work
- If you see Failed to load image catalog/payload catalog, this is fine and won\’t cause problems
- If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix

please help me i am having trouble jailbreaking the new 3g
This is my first time to use winpwn. Im trying to unlock my 1st gen iPhone. I’ve followed the steps but i’m stuck on the part where i should browse for the ipsw file to build a customized ipsw. I cant build one because i cant find the file itself in the first place. I placed the file (firmware 2.0.1) on the desktop which i’ve downloaded from a site. but just like ive said, after extracting the file, i cant find the ipsw file to customize it. Help pls!

I need to know the steps for the iPod Touch. I am running 2.0 apple, not custom, firmware. (I accidently updated from jailbroken 1.1.4 to regular 2.0) First I have my 2.0 apple firmware, then I install this new version of winpwn, (do I have to move those 2 files into “programs/cmb or something?) I click ipod touch, then I click broad ipsw, find my 2.0 then click custom builder (Do I have to deal with that YouTube activation if it’s an iPod touch?) , let it do it’s thing, when the custom firmware is made I think you click ipwner and it says itunes has been pwned. I then put my iPod into duf mode, go into iTunes and hold shift and click restore and find and click on my custom made firmware and wait! DID I UNDERSTAND this CORRECTLY from YouTube? Post steps I may have missed because I’m going to do this tomorrow!!!

at the end of the process of building the costume firmware, the winpwn suddenly closes and doesn’t create the costume firmware.what’s the problem?
I’ have go the same becasue you checked autodelete botnauter app right? Uncheck this and start process.

does this work with iPhone 3G and does it fillet unlock it and give the installer
It works with 3G but only jailbreaks it. There is still no software unlock available for the 3G.

thats bull shit cydia is more stable than installer because installer is beta. You have to have cydia to get open ssh and bsd.
bollocks i have just restored my iphone for 12 time now if i even touch cydia or installer when i try to exit and iphone crashed hava to restore again get a spinning wheel thats stays there i have had it on 10 hours once so only choice restore

Can not get to work with IPhone 3G Gives error 6 when trying to restore iphone so having to restore to new offical fireware as iphone wont start prob

new guy here Q: if the only thing i`v done is unlocked my phone since ziphone 1.1.4 (4A102) of 09/07 and now i want updated 2.0.0.4 , what would be my first step, please help the new guy ….

like i found out partition size has to be 512 i was told 550 for my 3g phone but you cannot choose 550 only 551 or 512 for 2g phones

cydia has lodes of problems wait till dev team sorts it out for final then use it or if ure desperate for winterboard etc risk the chance of restoring ure itouch/phone3g/2g
