Zibri of ZiPhone fame has updated his blog with his own brand of tantalizing tid-bits of information to wet our appetites. His messages aren’t quite as cryptic as the iPhone Dev Team’s riddles and can be interpreted quite easily:

Like the egg of Columbus,
sometimes the best solution
is the simplier.

It looks like we can expect a whole new method of jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone 2.0 platform with the next ZiPhone. Zibri and the iPhone Dev Team have had some bad blood in the past concerning criticisms from both parties regarding their methods of reaching everyone’s mutual goals. Leaving us to expect a new and innovative approach. After much hunting around for more information on what we can expect in the next generation release of ZiPhone, I managed to locate this little development log blurb from Zibri:

Next generation of ZiPhone is in the works.
It will be as simple as Apple would have done it.
A simple one click program.
A 5 seconds run.
Stay tuned.

Zibri doesn’t seem to have held back on the promises we’ll see if he can fulfill those claims.

The story of ‘The Egg of Columbus’ from Wikipedia:

Girolamo Benzoni, in his Story of the New World (Venice, 1565), tells the story: “Columbus was dining with many Spanish nobles when one of them said: ‘Sir Christopher, even if your lordship had not discovered the Indies, there would have been, here in Spain which is a country abundant with great men knowledgeable in cosmography and literature, one who would have started a similar adventure with the same result.’ Columbus did not respond to these words but asked for a whole egg to be brought to him. He placed it on the table and said: ‘My lords, I will lay a wager with any of you that you are unable to make this egg stand on its end like I will do without any kind of help or aid.’ They all tried without success and when the egg returned to Columbus, he tapped it gently on the table breaking it slightly and, with this, the egg stood on its end. All those present were confounded and understood what he meant: that once the feat has been done, anyone knows how to do it.”

  2. Kami-sama says:

THANK GOD!!! I hate winpwn with all the custom fw nonsense and pwning itunes and all this other time consuming crap only to get tons of errors. i cant wait for the ziphone to come out!!!!

  3. Godless Geek says:

The dev team silently put out a developer version of a tool to make pwning and jailbreaking 2.0 easy a few days ago, and suddenly Zibri says he knows how to jailbreak one click.

Coincidence? Knowing Zibri’s history, I’d say the chances of coincidence here is almost zero.
