Ok people i fixed it, and if anyone has the same problem. Open your WinSCP and navigate to /private/var/mobile/Library and delete the folder called “MAIL”. It worked for me and i’m sure it’ll work for you :)

Hey everyone, let me just say i appreciate people helping other people on the site. I am kinda a noob but I just have a quick, hopefully simple question. After i click next in step four, it skips steps 5 and 6 and the first question it asks me is if i want to activate my iphone. I am running a 16gb 3G Iphone 2 with a current good contract on a pc. If I don’t see steps five and six, is this going to deactivate my phone and screw me up or are those steps not neccessary. Any help would be much appreciated. I dont really wanna go through with it without knowing. Thanks.

I had the first iphone, by mistake I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2 with itunes. I am trying to unluck it. I followed all the steps, they all worked but phone still is not unlucked. when I put tmobile sim card in it it goes to itunes mode, and I can’t do anything. Any help pls.

After looking for hours to find a solution for the greyed out WI-FI, I haven’t found anything yet. I think if I re virginize my custom 2.0.2 iPhone, it would most likely fix it. But is there any way to do so?

i have a blackjack with at&t wich i took the sim card from and an iphone i bought off a friend. for like a month ive been trying as hard as possible to get not only the iphone unlocked, but also service through at&t on the phone. after running the previous winpwn and 2.5 as well i still get the “lug into itunes” on my phone and i cant get rid of the “activate your iphone” registration page where you set up service with at&t. what am i doing wrong. I was able to unlock and activate my iphone with the above procedure but it will not connect to T-Mobile.

*UPDATE* I installed new 2.0.2 software and tried again. It seemed to work for about 20 minutes then all of a sudden I wasnt able to make outgoing calls. When I hit the keypad icon the numbers were frozen and I couldnt dial anything then it was just jump out of the keypad screen after freezing. I just restore to the normal software it came with and now its fine. I think this might be a little buggy in my opinion.

Everything went smoothly for my 3g install. Just one question, when I connect to my PC, iTunes doesn’t give me any options to sync or browse, i MUST either “restore from backup” or “setup as new iphone”; is there any way around this?

I would like to update my 2g 1.2.1 phone (currently 1.2.1) to 2.0.2 and I’m having trouble with it.

(My phone is stuck in restore mode, ever since I connected my phone to iTune 8, I updated to 8 recently, it could be a major mistake.)

My issue is that that winpwn 25 won’t detect my phone at Step Twenty One in restore mode (with the iTune logo and the white cable screen)

And when I try to restore the custom image to phone via iTune, it gave me errors too, I’m stuck..

I have another PC running iTune 7.4, when I try it, it still errors out. I’m thinking my phone has stopped responding.
Where can I download iTune 7.7 so I can remove iTune 8 and install 7 back?

jack, use WinPwn 2.0.0.4(2.5 is beta and I had similar issues) with ITunes 7.7 and follow the guide. Its the same procedure. WinPwn 2.5 and Itunes 8 would not work for me. Uninstall IT 8 and reboot then install 7.7 and use with WinPwn 2.0.0.4.

Ok I figured out a way to by pass winpwn and hack the Iphone 2.0.2 ok its actually really easy here we go..

1st. Open winpwn 2.5 beta follow the steps and create ur custom ipsw file…. STOP AFTER THAT

2nd. (Now this is where you all have been having trouble going into recovery mode and crashing)
Now what you wanna do is get out of the program and cancel going into recovery mode you already have the custom file made just how you like it and need it

3rd. Download this file

Its the qucikpwn 2.1 it works on the 2.0.2 go through the process and find your normal ipsw restore that you have on ur computer and go through the rest of the steps and make sure you put a check mark on the (Unlock) option then go through with the recovery mode like normal

4th. Now go to I tunes 7 which you should already have since you probly have followed the other instructions and hold the (Shift) key and click on the restore and now you should be able to restore ur custom ver of ur Iphone’s ipsw

Tip: If ur looking to upgrade to the 2.1 just dowload ur Iphone ipsw go into Itunes and hold (Shift) and click UPDATE then find the ipsw file you downloaded and let the phone update, then run the quickpwn again and follow all the steps and click the unlock and do the recovery mode and restart and ur DONE you have a unlocked Jailbroken Iphone in which you can put any SIM card you like, and if ur like me and using Tmobile and cant connect to the net with Iphone go the network settings and enter the cellular data network and change the APN to epc.tmobile.com Username and Password should be left blank and now you should be able to get on the internet

I have a 2g 16g phone upgraded to firmware 2.2 and unlocked. It works for a time and then (as above) the keypad freezes for outgoing calls. It still accepts incoming calls, but I cannot dial out. Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

I got up to the part where it says preparing your iphone to accept custom firmwares and the program crashes!! my phone has a greyish screen. i have 2.0.2, iphone 2g.help help help help help help help help help help help

The process seems to work most of the way, up to the screen message “Congratulations you have succesfully entered DFU mode. Please wait while your iphone is being prepared to accept custom IPSWs…” After this the green loading bar freezes and so does my iphone. On the expert side panel last few comments are ‘entered DFU mode’ then ‘entering recovery mode’. Then windows comes up with an error message and the program crashes!!

Any help please from anyone who might understand what is wrong or what I may be doing wrong! Using iPhone 3g and trying the latest software. Thanks

I get all the way to the part of searching for the ispw file and it cannot find it at ALL!! Even after unzipping and exracting files….I’m using windows XP and have a 3G, help anyone??

I have the same problem as alot of people here, winpwn stops working as soon as encripted output shows up on the expert log. The iphone screen stays bright and windows tell me the program stopped working.
Ive tried alot of things, changing itunes version, expert mode, diferent firmware…
Someone please help my sanity becomes frail…..

Well responding to myself….. I finaly semifixed the problem, I was able to access my iphone by using my friends mac, there I downloaded the newest quickpwn, updated my iphone through itunes (legaly) then quickpwned it and -tadaa!!! it worked….Although it didnt unblock the sim..so right now I have a very expensive ipod touch.
Ive heard that quickpwn doesnt unblock the sim, that pwnage tool does…(can anyone clarify this?), I tried it (on the Mac)but I kept getting the damn 1600 error..no idea how to fix it.

So for now………to access the iphone, use quickpwn on a mac…it works! But it wont unlock the sim.

Jailbroke my 3g 16gb yesterday…all worked well. I was not able to call from anywhere but my cantacts. I rerstored to factory setting and phone is working as when I baught it.. How do I jailbrake it and fix the problem next time….thanks Kevin

I have updated (I mean “was trying to..”) my firmware from 1.1.4 to 2.0.2 using winpwn 2.5 and everything seemed going perfect until reaching the iTune step..
The restore went smoth as well but then it got stuck on “verifying iphone software”…
It took more than an hour already and still “verifying”..

problem solved”i get the same massage on step 22,my iphone screen was on,and stay the same (lighted) .computer was givening me the message ;that some error so it need to close the program,its happen 2 time.now the problem is solved,i left the message as is.and went to itunes.in itunes screen i get the massage that my iphone is in recovry mode ,so i enter shift and click restore ,the reset you people know all.just leave the erroe massage ,and donot do anything ,go to itunes directly.my phone is working perfectly.

What a HASH? the restore.ipsw found has an invalid hasj.
and when i search for new file it keeps saying the sam thing. what did i do wrong. Becaus i’ve re-installed it like 3 times already.

Everytime I make it to the point where I’m in DFU mode, I get a popup window saying Windpwn has encountered a problem and exits itself everytime. What could or should I do to solve this problem?

When they ask you to activate it and i say yes at the end of the process will they ask me to restore it because that will just tell me to activate again

ok, pretty frustrated at this point. winpwn is really grinding my nerves until there are none left. im 10 seconds from frying a circuit and throwing this 1st gen iphone off the tallest closest cliff. i have followed the steps but the one thing holding me back is the firmware patch [iPhone1,1_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw]. the step where i tell winpwn to locate the file. it wont ov coarse. in fact, that file doesnt exist, i have a zip and only a zip. so i check for it manually…….still no file!!!!! i’ve downloaded it several times and im pretty sure one more download ov the same file just to be discouraged even more will send me over the edge. how do i locate this file properly? do i need to rename it? tried it already, still didnt work. check for a rar file? where? the only rar’s i know ov are for ipod’s, not the phone. PLEASE HELP!!!

with cydia and installer installed…

i used winpwn 2.5 with the 2.0.2 restore file above….
i go through the process above but i click thumbs down for “activation / youtube fix / i dont resize or wipe…the info above is for 2g so messages will be different….
now what happens is that after it comes to the final process winpwn crashes, i leave the iphone as is dont touch it at all, then i open itunes and restore from the ispw winpwn created let it run and your iphone is jailbroken and unlocked to all networks…i have tried this a few times without fail…
