The iPhone Dev Team have released the latest iterations of their popular software QuickPwn 1.1 and PwnageTool 2.1. Both have been updated to allow for unlocking and jailbreaking first generation iPhone’s on the new 2.1 firmware as well as jailbreaking the iPhone 3G & iPod Touch.

This release came with a little jab at Engadget from the Dev Team in response to an article they wrote questioning their relevance.
Some of the popular press and blogs have been backing the opposition. :-)
While criticism and competition is fine it should be reported correctly, with all the facts and certainly minus the FUD. Do you guys think we are “less and less relevant with each passing day” ? We don’t think so, and we certainly prefer our hacks to theirs.

Indeed…QuickPwn is excellent. Unlocked my 2G phone superb…but I get a ‘no service’. SIM is good, all else works fine. In settings it says ‘network not available’ and Carrier is (null) (null). Can anyone help?

The fact is that I dont really know why, but quickpwn for mac does not work as good as Windows version. Im a mac user, and I hate that mac version does not unlock iPhone 2G.
What you need to do is connect your iphone(doesnt mather that it says no service) to a windows computer running iTunes 8.01 and latest version of quickpwn, there, you check the box where it says unlock baseband. You will be asked for the basebands, both are in iphone-hacks. Then follow QuickPwn instructions and your ready! Enjoy your unlocked iPhone.

try this by mirad8065 (dev-team) – it is showing null null because you did the jailbreak without a sim card in the phone. you have to either restore with itune with your att or tmobile sim in the iphone or proceed to unlock with yellowsn0w with sim in. had the null null but went ahead to unlock and my iphone is just doing fine on t-mobile. good luck!
listen i have jailbreak 3g iphone and i have the same problem with the null-null it will work with my phone you thing i will appreciate any help thanks i downgrade the phone 2.2 because i accidentally download the update 2.2.1 and later a downgrade but to 2.2 i will appreciate any help

This quickpwn 1.1 seems to have cause my 3G 2.1 iphone to exhibit the apple logo screen of death.
The iPhone never passes the boot up screen after the the success screen in quickpwn 1.1.
I have tried twice. I even re-downloaded and replace the iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw in Docs.
Try PwnageTool, I find it very reliable.
alias, could you give me the adress with made by pwnage custom 2.1 firmware? I have no mac so i couldn’t make one for me.
You can:
A) Use WinPwn(not sure it if already pwns 2.1 firmware) OR
B) Look around eMule, Pirate Bay, etc.
Hey guys, some kind soul please tell me how to do the update? I’ve got the pwnage tools already. How to start? Should I update to firmware 2.1 first then use pwnage? Meaning all my previous app will be gone?
Can you still ssh into the phone. Since I’ve updated to 2.1, I can no longer use Fugu to ssh into the phone.

i had catagory app on my 2.0.2 and i had weather app and stocks app on there, after i update to 2.1 it took all the weather and stocks along with catagory app. is there a way to get it back. and also i after i jailbroke it i put the cracked apps on application folder and set the right permission. but it doesn’t work it used to work on 2.0.2
Is it me or installer Shite? how do i get Cydia on my jailbroken iPod. i used the QuickPwn and worked fine appart from i no longer have Cydia :( booooo

you have to put all the file in the same folder.
trying to upload the v 3.9 and v 4.6 bootloaders keep getting opened by toast or coverted into .rar files. Anyone got any ideas?
WinPwn 3.0 will hopefully be the windows answer to pwning the 2.1 iPhone OS for 3Gs… right? So there is light at then end of an unpwned iPhone tunnel?
quickpwn 3.0 is out for windows, although I pwned iPod iPhone 2G and 3G with quickpwn without any problems

Quick solution is bring to Apple Store, i having this issue also, don’t know how to fix it. Just bring it to Apple Store.

Hey wats the deal? i just upgraded my 3g from 2.0.2 to 2.1 and now for some reason it wont let me SSH into my phone any more. anyone know wats going on? please tell me if theres anything i need to do so i can SSH. Or is it even possible with 2.1?..

I have the same problem as Guy Cortes. I have a 8g 2G iphone, I tried unlocking my phone with Quickpwn 1.1 it would do the process but wont activate the phone..
OK – I may have found a fix to my above problem. My previously unlocked phone would not work as a phone (with a TMobile SIM) after running PwnageTool and upgrading to 2.1. To get the phone to work, I downloaded Quickpwn 1.1 and ran it and now the phone works! I did this AFTER running PwnageTool, which failed to unlock my phone. I now have a 2G 8GB iPhone with Cydia and the Installer and the App Store, and YouTube works, and it works as a phone too. This was definitely not simple like the ZiPhone unlock/Jailbreak I did for 1.1.4 a while back.

what do i save the bootloaders to on my mac. everytime i try and jailbreak and unlock the phone it says i do not have the bootloaders when i do.. any suggestions?
