ZodTTD has done it again, this time releasing MAME4iPhone, the Multi Arcade Machine Emulator for jailbroken iPhones via the Cydia installer application. This emulator will allow you play thousands of your favourite arcade classics, anything from Pong to Mortal Kombat. I can’t wait to start enjoying Golden Axe on the road! To install MAME you can find it in the Games section of Cydia.
- Based on MAME v0.37 Beta 5
- Supports thousands of MAME ROMs
- Sounds is supported but off by default. Go to “Now Playing” and slide the sound slider to turn sound on
- To press OK. Use RIGHT then LEFT then RIGHT then LEFT to press OK.
- Save states not supported
- Upon installing a folder /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/MAME/ is already made for you. Place your MAME-titled zipped ROMs in the /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/MAME/roms/ folder

Any solution for non-cracked iPhones or iPod Touch? I’m a huge fan of MAME from way back, like from the dawn of MAME… just got an iPod Touch and was curious.
downloaded some mame roms from http://www.rom-world.com/ but they wont work. I can see them on the startup page of the app, but they all say files are missing. Im trying a few of the larger rom files now. Anyone having any luck?
I will definately start by playing Mortal Kombat!

I have try couple of roms but all say file missing.
Is this working on 1.1.4 jb iPhones? I want TMNT and Simpsons working 100%! Maybe Ridge Racer one day…

i dont get it how do i access the folders to put the roms in there?
im running mac os x 10.5.
i already installed mameiphone but i hav no clue how to access this folders in order to put my roms.
i had the same problems with Nes.
im thinking maybe when u plug it into a pc the iphone also comes out as a usb drive 2 right?

Ok, I got it to work and looks beautiful, but VERY CHOPPY. Does anyone know how to stop the choppiness? Its sloooooow! I mean rrrrrreally slow.
you need something like iphonebrowser to be able to put those files into your iphone.
i did but they all say they are missing files, usually a bunch of .## ## being 2 numbers.

how do i get the roms to work i really want to play vendetta and it says flies are missing. someone please help
get diffrent romeset or get yourself a tool to check this rom for the mame build used for this port.

Couldn’t find this on cydia no rock (which I think uses exactly the same db). Where is it?
