‘Bout time, right? RipDev have released InstallerApp for Windows. It took longer than they expected but the only thing that matters is that it’s finally out. If you don’t know what InstallerApp is, it’s a desktop application to install Apple Unapproved 3rd Party applications onto your jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch via USB. Both Cydia repositories and Installer repositories are supported, so that’s a plus.

InstallerApp works on anything from XP to Windows 7, so which ever version of Windows you’re using you should be good! InstallerApp requires iTunes so make sure you have that installed before hand.

InstallerApp license costs $7USD and the license ties to the devices so it works regardless on which platform you use it on.

You need to select your firmware(ipsw)file.

You can download it from http://www.iphone-hacks.com/downloads/category/23

Then just follow the on screen instructions.

Actually I am a little stuck with this application as well. After giving the location of the firmware InstallerApp has to take the iphone to DFU mode right? The problem I am facing is that when InstallerApp reach’s the final step where it says hold Home button only and when it reach’s 7secs it crashes. it says that it has encounterd a problem and needs to close. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?

Ditto for me too. Installerapp rejected the os 3.0 .ipsw file but loaded v 2.2.1. Could this have anything to do with the frequent crashes? My phone fails to go into DFU but automatically launches iTunes instead.

iPhone 3g os 3.0
IBM Thinkcentre
windows xp sp2
.NET framework 3.5

What are the requirements for the iphone in order to use Installerapp? Jailbreak with? For Iphone 3G 3.1.2. And I thought you did not have to Jailgreak your iphone to use this app.
