GeoHot has released his latest tool to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 on the Mac platform, so for all those Mac users wanting a 30s or less jailbreak can now do so. Along with Blackra1n for Mac OS X, Blackra1n was updated for the Windows platform to fix various bugs on the Windows application.
So, what is blackra1n? blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak. Even the ipt3, but the ipt3 is tethered. In order to boot it, just rerun blackra1n.
Warning 3g and 3gs unlockers, do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your unlock. Check out the dev team’s offerings. Also blackra1n doesn’t hacktivate.

I just realized he works for Apple, hence the break apart. I just ran BlackRain and the first thing it does is download your phone statistics and presumable collects/emails them.
your an idiot if he worked for apple he would be helping apple close all the exploits and prevent people from creating jailbreak tools..

Do you have to turn ur phone off while doing this jailbreak like you did with quickpwn? Just curious because my power button is broke so I have been to scared to try and upgrade. Or can I upgrade my jailbroken phone to the new firmware while still keeping it jailbroken? SOmeone please let me know.
ok, so now we can upgrade to 3.1.2 from itunes and still be able to unlock using blackra1n?

I just updated my iPhone 2G to 3.1.2 from iTunes. Then I downloaded “GeoHot’s blackra1n RC3 for Windows Download” to jailbreak it. But it’s not working. My screen still showing “No SIM card installed”.
Please help. What should I do now?
