Apple released iPhone OS 3.1.3 recently to improve and fix a few issues with iPhone OS 3.1.2 and the iPhone Dev Team recently released their updated redsn0w software to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2 but an unofficial feature of Redsn0w 0.9.2 is the ability to also jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3. That said, lets get jailbreaking that device of yours.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 in the same way you would jailbreak iPhone OS 3.0 with redsn0w 0.9.2.

Please follow these instructions clearly and you’ll be a-o-k. Now, before we begin you may notice that we use the iPhone OS 3.1.2 IPSW to jailbreak our iPhone OS 3.1.3 device, this is no mistake. When you get asked to select the iPhone firmware you have installed then choose the iPhone OS 3.1.2 IPSW. Please make sure you have updated your device to 3.1.3 by either updating officially via iTunes or restoring via iTunes. Keep in mind that restoring your iPhone will erase your iPhone’s content. In this tutorial we use Redsn0w version 0.9.2

Note: We are not responsible if your device blows up in the middle of the jailbreak process or if your device doesn’t turn on after using this. Use, strictly, at your own risk!

  1. First is first, download redsn0w 0.9.2 here (for Windows) or here (for Mac OS X)
  2. Second, Download iPhone OS 3.1.2 (to Jailbreak 3.1.3) or whatever firmware you’ll be using to jailbreak – here
  3. (more…)

Damn straight! It’s here! It’s finally here! The iPod Touch 2G Untethered Jailbreak! Released by iPhone Dev Team, of course. The iPod Touch is now part of the “pwned for life” family, the team found a fatal flaw in the bootrom which means it will always be pwnable no matter what firmware update comes along. This is an awesome find! And one that has been in tremendous demand. Well, the iPhone Dev Team has never let us down and I’d like to thank them personally.

The raw patch to the firmware that transforms the “tethered” jailbreak into an untethered is not yet packaged into the PwnageTool or Quickpwn flows but we got a tutorial for you!

This tutorial is by iPodTouchFans and we can not guarantee it works. Use at your own risk!

  1. Download unofficialsn0w 2.0 for Windows from here
  2. Get the 2.2.1 iPod Touch Firmware HERE
  3. Rename the 2.2.1 ipsw to OriginalFW, or OriginalFW.ipsw IF you have file extensions visible, and place it in /IPSW
  4. Run IPSW.bat (It will take a while)
  5. Step 5
    • Right click on the jb.ispw and either open with Winrar or 7.zip
    • Go into Firmware\all_flash\all_flash.n72ap.production\
    • Delete the LLB file.(optional since it will be replaced by the new one)
    • Replace (by dragging) with the LLB file that’s in the same folder as the jb.ipsw.
    • Exit, continue to step 6
  6. Place your iPod Touch 2G into DFU mode, plug it in and run RUNME.exe
  7. Shift + Restore to JB.ipsw in iTunes and your done!!!

Downloads:
