Same thing the program unlocks your phone, but i think using the AT&T sim card means you are undergoing the 2year contract, correct me if im wrong anyone but i dont think you have to go thru the whole thing again, the program just unlocks it normally without connecting to itunes, [points to what i wrote at the start], unlock it [takes about 2 sec] and well u can use your AT&T sim card.

Oh with my method, you can, you dont have to undergo the whole [i want the 2 year contract thingy] again xD, so yeah feel free to activate your phone with my method.You dont need anything related to any contract thingy, you just need to activate using the program and voila! your done!

1.Unlocking the phone/activating it is a temporary statement,the minute you change sims, you have to reactivate it, which i might add makes it better for apple not to guess so that your phone was altered i suppose.[Knowing it can only be unlocked thru the 2year shit], the reactivation everytime you change sim is the only downside i have seen so far.
2.Yeah you can return your phone to the orignial state by retoration method, sleep+home button for 30 secs till a yellow triangle appears and restore phone back to factory settings [must be connected via usb with itunes open]
3.Upgrading your firmware means that you WOULD have to go through the 2year contract again so might not want to risk it my friend.Since the new firmware only allows AT&T sim cards to be used.But as it was reported recently downgrading your phone if it was at firmware 1.1.1 also results that it perm disables the use of other sim cards besides AT&T so good for you?Still dont risk it, if it asks for an upgrade, tell it to go to the dump. Just wait for a custom firmware or something which allows you to like have the new firmware features without risking your phone.
4.And no, unlocking means that everyone can use the phone without activating it through the 2 year contract, if you use freesim.app that means you CAN use other sims, without that app the phone is only used for just messing with the springboard/ipod/camera/ basically all the iphone features except the phone calls.Since you have an AT&T sim card you can use it without freesim i suppose and make calls with no issues [your using their almighty card >_>]

Overall, Unlocking your phone with the prog and using your AT&T simcard is a good idea.Just try not to upgrade it, other than that you'll do fine.Besides were all bound to mistakes one way or another we are left with the option of accidenally doing something to the phone which renders us asking 'how to reactivate it without going through the whole 2year thing again' just unlock it using the prog if it happens again, doing that wont cause your phone any harm.Just unlocks it,afterwards you can use it like a regular AT&T user.

does this work on my iphone it is 1.0.2

do you need a special version of itunes to make sure it dosnt upgrade the iphone? I wanna pop stuff into the ipod but i dont wanna open itunes incase it starts upgrading, or do i have the option to or not?
