I have an old iPhone 2G, brought to Africa from America. Regular Cingular service in the States. Today, I downloaded the QuickPwn 22 program, and unlocked the phone without any problem. The first time I unlocked it, I did it with the Cingular SIM in place, and it all went through everything just fine. I removed the Cingular SIM, and put in my Djibouti Telecom SIM. Restarted the phone, entered the passcode for the Djibouti SIM, and the phone shows full reception from the service, but it advised:
DIFFERENT SIM DETECTED
Please Connect To iTunes
So I connect, and I get this message:
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
I redid the whole process with the Djibouti telecom SIM in place and still got the same message.
How do I fix this? I have 2 different co-workers who bought legally unlocked 3gs and use them with the carrier here without any problems, so I know that the phones will support the SIMs.
Any ideas???? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I am having a similar problem, I feel your pain. The only difference is that I unlocked with out a sim in the phone. I used my buddies t-mobile SIM to see if the procedure worked and it says T-Mobile up on top of the phone and say's it has service, but it gives me the same message about iTunes. The phone will allow me to go to the emergency call screen, and when I called my phone (not an emergency #) it worked!?! It just won't allow me to go to the home screen.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated!
