I upgraded to the new 3.0 os today and have found that you can not make custom ringtones for it anymore with iphone ringtone maker. The program does not recognize 3.0 as an Iphone. Anyone find a way around this yet?

Are you paying for useless ringtone converters when there's a way to do it free with no software needed except iTunes for syncing

It's surprisingly easy to set a song file as a custom ring tone, actually, depending on whether you want to get your hands dirty with your Mac or not. Lots of people are reverse engineering how the iPhone uses custom ring tones (for example, this trick from iPhone Atlas) which is very cool, but since it's quite possible that the way the iPhone works with ring tones will change over time as Apple tweaks things, I'm loath to learn a command-line trick when there's a software solution out there that means someone else gets to figure out the tweaks needed each time there's an iTunes update.
Yeah, you can probably accuse me of becoming lazy as I leave my intense hacking days behind me, but uh, whatever. :-) When I found out that software distributor Ambrosia had released a $15 iPhone ring tone manager called iToner, which lets me manage the custom ring tones on my iPhone without monkeying about, I was sold. You will be too, after I demonstrate it here, because it's so darn easy to work with...
Start by downloading iToner and launching it (you can use it in demo mode and it'll work fine for dealing with a few custom ring tones, though eventually, as with all shareware, you should eventually pay the registration fee, of course).(I've already installed a custom ring tone that I sliced out of the Beach Boys wonderful Wouldn't It Be Nice, as you can see. Also, all images in this article are chopped down a bit to make this more readable. The actual user interface to iToner is over twice as tall)
To add a new ring tone to your phone, it's literally as easy as dragging and dropping the AAC or MP3 file onto the main window. Now you have two ring tones listed, one that's synced and one that needs to be synced (the latter is denoted by the two-arrow circular icon adjacent to the audio file name).Click on the little "sync" button on the bottom of the "phone" interface on your computer and it'll either give you an annoying "register this app" message for 30-60 seconds or longer or just directly go to the function, telling you that it's synchronizing.Once it's done, you'll see that the two ring tones are shown without any sync needed icon.hat's all there is to it. To make this your new ring tone for your iPhone, simply go to Settings --> Sounds and choose "Ring tone" from the second set of options, then select the new ring tone. :-)

I do not pay for the software, it was a freeware program. Everytime I try to do custom ringtones with itunes it tries to charge .99 per tone, not to include the original price of the song.

How to convert MTS, M2TS, TS files into MKV on Mac?
High definition movies in 720 or 1080 pixels width format, usually MTS format are often encoded and packaged as a Matroska format video with a MKV file extension. Then what is MKV? Maybe I will show you something about it.
MKV is a open standard free container format developed by Matroska. It can hold different types of videos and audios, that is to say, there might be a AVI file contained within the MKV file. An MKV file contains compressed video and audio streams along with an encoder. A codec is required to play this type of file.
Before playing MKV file, you should first get the file, it is easy to convert your high definition MTS video file to MKV file by using our simple yet powerful MTS to MKV converter for Mac software, not only it can convert MTS to MKV, but also to other common formats like AVI, MPEG, VOB, 3GP, MOV, WMV, RM, RMVB etc. And more features can be expected in MTS to MKV converter for Mac: trim the video to what you want, adjust output settings like Encoder, Resolution, Frame Rate and Bitrate.
After that, you only need a codec to play it, as we know Apple QuickTime doesn't handle this file format natively, here, we recommend you to get either MPlayer OS X or VLC Media Player, they are both available for free.

How to convert MTS, M2TS, TS files into mov on Mac?
You have just come back from your holiday, and have a strong desire to share with your family and friends some wonderful moments captured by your high definition camcorder, but only to find that it can't be played directly by QuickTime on your Mac. What a pity! Will all your efforts be wasted?
Not in my opinion. Why not think out a workaround, maybe not so complicated as you expect. This can be simply realized by converting the MTS video file to QuickTime natively supported file format, MOV, and this is just what our MTS to MOV coverter for Mac does.
MOV is a file compression format for QuickTime movies and animation, developed by Apple Computer, which can actually be used to store both movies and sounds.
With our powerful and professional MTS to MOV converter for Mac, you can not only convert MTS file to MOV file, but also to many other file formats like AVI, MPEG, VOB, 3GP, MOV, WMV, RM, RMVB etc, besides, you are allowed to edit your video file, such as you can adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Effect of the video as you like. In this way, your worries will be relieved, and you can enjoy your wonderful time with your family and friends with ease.
