Ok... I know im new but I have been searching in all different kids of ways to figure this out in a straight answer...

Ok..
I first got an Iphone 2g and upgraded to 3.0.

I then jailbroke and unlocked using redsnow.
I Bought a cheap go phone with an automatic $15 credit when activated.
Now heres where I screwed up.

I didnt read the phone instructions...
So I started off by automatically putting the sim in, then battery then charging and turning on.
Go phone had no service.

I then read the instructions, but dumbassingly I activated the sim and phone online, then put the sin card in my Iphone first. It automatically found the ATT service, but there was no credit. In my account thing it does say $15.00 bonus.. but after I do something.
So I added $15 to the phone just to have minutes.

I kept the sim and ATT let me return the phone and exchange it for the same.

This time I followed directions, activated the sim online, then pu tin the gophone and voila instant ATT and instantly got my $15 credit on that account.

But, even though my Iphone is unlocked, if I put the new sim with the credit it always says no service

Now Im new to all this... so please be gentle.
What I want to know is after activating a sim in a gophone can it not be transferred to an Iphone? or do I need to unlock or do something else?

Also, the gophone itself says that is I place my exsisting sim into it it will credit that sims account, but will that lock my iphone sim to the new gophone?

Or should I just drop all this, cancel the new account, take the phone back and just buy a minute card for the Iphone sim.

Hopefully I gave enough detail

Also, when going to the att configureyourself site, I shows my first number as an Iphone even thought he sim came from a Gophone.

lol, what a mess! As far as I know your gophone sim should work, and you can try restoring the phone with your sim in it. With redsn0w just select add cydia. Don't unlock, you shouldn't have to and thats the only thing I see that may be causing you a problem.

Here in lies the problem.
I even did a full restore and unlock/jailbreak lastnight with the other sim card in. Still no service.

What im mainly asking is..

I know the sim I activated in the Iphone works fine but did not give me my credit because it was not activated in the phone it came with..

The new one I boughts sim card was activated in the new go phone, has credit, but will not give me service in the Iphone.

I just wasnt sure if the sim I activated in the Gophone that gives the iphone no service needs to be unlocked, or unlocked from the phone it was activated on or if once activated in the go phone it is locked to said phone.

EDIT-- and also, the Sim activated in the Iphone works on the new gophone, but not vice versa... Confusing

hmmm... basically you have a sim thats att but dont work on the iphone and works on a go phone?

hmmm.... either you need to call att and ask them the reason for this... or try unlock the iphone with ultrasn0w...

if you have already unlocked the iphone and the sim still dont work then restore the iphone again this time have the sim in the phone and do the whole unlock thing again.... that should do the trick....

hope i got the prob right if not please post it in really easy terms.. lol!!

Ok..
Bought go phone, got Iphone 2g 8gb from some dude.
Fully restored Iphone with gophone sim in Iphone, then activated the sim online, added $15 to the account and boom it works. It is unlocked and jailbroken 3.0os

Bought a second gophone, one that comes with a $15 credit. But this time activated the new gophones sim in the go phone instead of the Iphone. This time i tgave me the $15 credit on the new account.

I take this sim card, that was activated in the go phone, and put it into my unlocked Iphone 2g and it says no service.

What I want to know is once a sim is activated in a gophone, is it locked to the go phone. and when using a sim card in an unlocked Iphone, does it have to be new and never locked to another phone.

or..

Will a sim from activated gophone work in unlocked Iphone 2g.

I have found a couple forums talking about that it will not work once activated in the gophone instead of the iphone..... but these are from 2 years back.
I want my $15 credit lol
