I don't whether this is the appropriate forum to discuss c++/c development for the iphone, so if it isn't, could you point me towards a specialized forum for c++/c development for the iphone.
My problem is getting gcc to work on the iphone. I am currently using a jailbroken iphone with 3.0 os, I've jailbroken it with redsn0w 0.7. I've tried to install gcc with cydia, although every time I try to install it, it just kills the app. I am trying to get a working build of ushare for the iphone, so that it has a decent upnp/dlnaa media server.
I remember, when I tried doing this on 2.2.1, it got further than what I've come across now:
root# ./configure --enable-cross-compile --build=arm-apple-darwin10.0.0d3
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking build system type... arm-apple-darwin10.0.0d3
checking host system type... arm-apple-darwin10.0.0d3
checking for --enable-debug... no
checking for --enable-client... yes
checking for --enable-device... yes
checking for --enable-webserver... yes
checking for --enable-tools... yes
checking for --enable-samples... yes
checking for documentation directory... ${datarootdir}/doc/libupnp-1.6.6
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.I am not a c++ expert, nor am I an unix god, I am fairly sure that the last 4 lines suggest that I don't have a c++ compiler. So, my question now is, could I cross-compile from my linux box for the iphone. If yes, then how could I do it, like what prefixes do I need ? If not, is there a working gcc for iphoneOS 3.0 ?
I apologize for my bad spelling and grammar mistakes, english is not my maiden language.

I am not a c++ expert, nor am I an unix god, I am adequately abiding that the endure 4 curve advance that I don't accept a c++ compiler. So, my catechism now is, could I cross-compile from my linux box for the iphone. If yes, again how could I do it, like what prefixes do I charge ? If not, is there a alive gcc for iphoneOS 3.0
