Yes. Well, tutorial idk but dev team says it can be jailbroke with redsn0w and unlocked with ultrasn0w. Read about it here:

Are the hacks based on the firmware or the phones? If the 3GS is 3.0 and the 3G is 3.0, do they both have the same hack needed to jailbreak?

Hacks are based on the firmware and the phone. lol, you can use Redsn0w and Ultrasn0w on the 3G and the 3GS but I'm sure the IPSW is different. Haven't really read much about the 3GS so far. Which phone do you have?

I have the 3GS. Bought it a few days ago. Does it have 3.0? Where on the phone can I find out the firmware version?

iphone 3GS only comes with 3.0 there is no earlier fw for the iphone 3GS...

im not trying to overtake someone else's thread

just curious i have a 3gs and im with att the only thing i want to be able to do is change the email,sms, and voicemail notifications so i would just need to do a jailbreak and not unlock the phone? also via reading at the dev team site this is possible now but they dont want to release anything yet so could i do a jailbreak with redsnow since im on att?
