Installing themes
You need to either use SSH, AFPd, or iPhoneBrowser
• For 1.1.3 and 1.1.4
For Summerboard:
/private/var/mobile/Library/SummerBoard/
/var/mobile/Library/SummerBoard/
For Customize:
/private/var/mobile/Library/Customize/
/var/mobile/Library/Customize/
• For 1.1.2 and down
For Summerboard:
/private/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/
/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/
For Customize:
/private/var/root/Library/Customize/
/var/root/Library/Customize/

it tells me that it cannot find the path "/var/roo/libary/summerboard/themes" have you successfully used jailbreak?? but when i got the phone apprantley it has been unlocked by anysim!!! please help

Browse for themes through Cydia
Not much harder than that

Can anyone tell me how to actually install the themes onto the phone? I've downloaded one from Cydia an it seems to install but it hasn't. Am I doing something wrong??

You must have installed winterboard first.
Install the theme, go into winterboard; find and select your theme - install

The reason Summerboard are not there is that, for them to be installed using the installer.app, the two programs have to be "allowed" to run on the new firmware.
