i have just got an iphone 3g from Softbank in Japan.

I wanna know that if i jailbreak my iPhone 3g with firmware 2.0, is it possible to get back to unjailbreaked version? As i have heard a lot of Softbank iphone users saying that after jailbreaking, they are not getting the signals.

What if i screw up my iphone? is it possible to get back to the working iphone as before?

yes it's possible to unjailbreak an iphone (just restore the iphone to the original FW)

while making the custom FW for the iphone just make sure that you DO NOT tick the box that says unlock the iphone as that causes problems for the iphone 3G...

Your not gonna screw up your iPhone if you follow everything correctly.
Use Winpwn.

Says winpwn 2.0 but it works the same way really.
If your just looking for a jailbreak, uncheck everything under the advanced tab and ignore step 9.

I own an iPhone 2G, but its the same way overall.

I have one question, i already have Firmware 2.0 (5A345) on my iPhone 3G and i have read somewhere that Winpwn will only work for 2.0(5A347), is it So?

Anybody there have to comment on it??

Umm, just load the firmwire into winpwn, it'll check the firmwire if its compatible or not.

i believe i should backup my iPhone, incase i got my iphone screwed up, i can restore it back to its original version.

Will Apple store help me restore my iPhone if i screw it up??

you people made me really relaxed and now i am gaining confidence and upto Jailbreak my iPhone 3G, will let you people know if i ll have any problem, thanks for help buddies.

One last question , do i have to connect my iPhone before using Winpwn, i mean do i need to connect my iphone to pc througout the process??

one more question plz.
what if i dont want to update my baseband, coz i already have my phone activated by my connection providers (Softbank a Provider in Japan)??

Also is it necessary to load the Bootloaders, coz in some other manuals i have not read about loading the bootloaders although all other steps are the same???
