I've been reading through the forums and trying to search for applicable threads to my questions, but haven't really found much directly.

Software:
1) Are there any drawbacks to jailbreaking?

2) Is it possible to un-jailbreak?

3) Is it possible/easy to brick an iPhone when using custom firmware / jailbreaking?

4) Is jailbreaking the same as using a custom firmware?

5) If you brick your iPhone, is it possible to unbrick it?

Hardware:
6) Anyone know much about the antenna? Can it be strengthened by attaching it to a large bit of metal? (Say 6x3 inches of brass?) And/Or does brass interfere much with radio signals when it covers an antenna?

7) Anyone know of instructions for dismantling the chassis to extract the phone?

1. yuu might have to much fun on ur iphone...(2 much of anything can kill yuu)

2. to unjailbreak just restore...to un-anything...just restore...

3.its really easy to brick ur iphone...drop it in water...throw it in cement...biting (only if ur in that teething stage of ur life [around the time yuu get ur first teeth growing in])..other than that...just restore...

4.no...if ur custom firmware will have a jailbreak...but a jailbreak is not the same thing as a custom firmware...because a custom firmware...is...of course...a custom firmware... lol [joke]

5. lol bricks and iphones dont go 2gether...at...all...

6.never done so lol (who would want all that brass on the little ol iphone? haha [i can picture it]) but i have heard of those amplifying antenna stickers working...[not sure tho]

7.i 4get the website but its like (ifixit.com) or sumptin...im sorry...can yuu (some1...[any1]) tell em the website on how to take apart the phone? [quick google search would probably find a site]

3. bricking iphone is history unless you update through itunes not waiting for the official jailbreak app

6. it might but it'll make your iphone look terrible.. try to position the iphone upside down when sending SMS.. works for me.. ;-)

TO open an iphone you
1 take a very thin blade and push it in at the botton of the iphone between the cable slot and the back black cover
2 slowly move the blade towards the side of the phone that has no buttons and one side of the black cover should pop open...
3 do the same to the other side
4 now you should be able to move the black piece up and down (DON'T move it up to much)
5 take the thin blade and now under the black piece where it joins the sliver cover there are two more clips push them down carefully one at a time and the whole black picec should come off
6 you will now see three screws holding the silver cover open those
now is the hardest part
7 take out the sim card slot
8 take the side which has no buttons and slowly try and open your way to the top of the phone these clips are like hell i suggest having a friend for help and be very careful as the allumnum case can bend very easly
9 after you've opened one side open the other side the same way be very careful the iphone is very delecate
10 now you have the back cover out pull out the frame thats just under the back cover (silver shiny frame)
11 you will find a total of 10 TEN there must be ten screws all round the phone
12 once you have all of them open. WALLAAAA YOUR DONE!!.....

this whole process is difficult and much be done very carefully...
