Hi,
I have bought an iPhone in the US, last year (2007) (I currently live in Brazil). I unlocked/jailbroke it using INdependence, apptapp, Unlock.app (by Erica Sadun) and Cyberduck softwares.
It now runs FIRMWARE version 1.02 (1C28). My model is a MA712 (8GB)
It works fine (at the exception of Youtube) although I do have the music disappearing and re-appearing time to time!! ![]()
There's a lot of new apps I would love to install but I can't since the firmware I run won't allow me to do it.
What should I do!? I am completely lost after reading post all over the net on the firmware update and the itunes stuff...
Should I update to version 1.1? Newer (2.0)?
What's best and proved to be working fine!? (I just do not want to run into any problem as it would be impossible to fix here in Brazil!)
BTW, I use a Mac OSX10.4
Any help/step by step tutorial, much appreciated! I am not a computer geek!! ![]()
Thanks a lot!

You should to 2.0.
Since your on a mac, use pwnagetool.
Make sure you are running the lastest iTunes.

Thanks! I'll try that!
Cool tutorial!
Is there any way to backup the phone as it is in case something goes wrong or is that tutorial 100% newbie proof!!?![]()

Well if you still have your copy of 1.0.2 fw. then there's your backup

1.0.2 is ancient.

You'd be better off with a bricked phone than 1.0.2
But even if you somehow manage to mess up upgrading to 2.x, just try again. No need to ever go back.
