So I've been reading around on various forums, blogs today and quite a number of people have brought up the issue of cracks in the iphone 3g, especially in the white. Seeing How I just purchased my 3g iphone white..i examined it..and i found a lil crack between the headphone port and the silver bezel..man my phone was bought as an "unlocked" one with the gevey sim hack meaning i have no apple warranty, what can i do?? anyone else have this problem

I have an issue similar to that: The metal casing around my black 3G has been scuffed up since I took it out of the box. Especially at the bottom, there are huge scrath marks and a little chip out of the bottom left corner.

If it bothers you THAT much, Im sure Apple will send you a refund, but I wouldn't worry about it. It won't structurally affect your phone

its the white plastic that has cracks i'm just scared it will fall off, cuz i've seen the forum on macrumours alot of people posting their cracks some look liek its beginning to fall off! scary!

i do have one had it one since i bought my phone a few days ago and miracoulsy even tho i barely used it it gets that crack near the headphone port.. maybe you guys haven't seen the horrors posted on mac rumours, its really scary im not sure if we're allowed to post a link but its interesting to check out http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread. … mp;page=36

I never liked the looks of the 3G cuz it told me a lot bout its quality as durable material. And guess what.. It failed my standards with flying colors...

I suggest ya'll take care with ya 3Gs. My 2G fell more times than I remember and I have a dent on my upper-left corner but the casing is sturdy as hell. Gotta love the first gen devices... How iRonic...
