Hi guys,
I've been doing some googling and it seems that Apple have released it's iPhone 2.2 SDK for beta testing to it's registered developers.
I'm looking for your opinions on something regarding upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2 (when made public).
I'm running 2.1 on my jailbreaked iPhone 3G (used QuickPwn 1.1, Mac OS X). The SIM Lock on my iPhone is still in place, however, using a SIM adaptor I can use a SIM card of any carrier (which is what I'm doing now). From what I can gather the SIM adaptor fakes the IMSI of the installed SIM card - fooling the iPhone that the installed SIM card is what is expected.
From what I've read - the jailbreaking for 2.2 will likely be released pretty soon after the release of 2.2. Those iPhone dev people are very smart guys!
But what does everything think is going to be in store for FW 2.2 regarding SIM Lock ?
It'd be nice if the SIM adaptor still works in FW 2.2
Cheers
Joe.

iphone is always going to be locked in some places, in other places it'll be unlocked but you'll have to pay extra for it to be unlocked, sometimes it's $1000USD + just for it to be unlocked. I'm not very knowledged on iphone unlocking as my iphone doesn't need to be unlocked but if the sim adapter really does work then it should continue working in 2.2
