Hey guys,
I've noticed alot of us have been having problems with tmobile(or other sim) after installing 2.1 and running quickpwn. The common problem seems to be that:
-you are not able to get past the emergency call screen
-you have a tmobile carrier in the upper left corner with full bars
-you can make calls from the emergency call screen to anyone but that is all.
Well I have a fix for this problem (by fix I mean it worked for me so yea haha)
-Using Itunes 8 download the 2.1 restore file, or you can dl it from a third party as long as it is the correct file.
-Next uninstall Itunes 8
-Next install Itunes 7.7.1.11
-Next locate the iTunes Library.itl file and DELETE IT (other wise Itunes 7 will not open)
-Next INSERT YOUR TMOBILE SIM before doing the restore
-Next restore your firmware to 2.1 in the manner shown in the quickpwn instructions
-Next continue to follow the quickpwn instructions exactly
This should result in an unlocked/jailbroken iphone. You will need to upgrade to itunes 8.0 after this process is compleated.
This exact process worked for me and honestly you may not need to do the uninstall on 8.0 rather just have the desired sim in from the point of install of 2.1. I don't know??? All I know is that this process worked for me and is worth the extra 30 mins you spend doing the install/uninstall bs haha.
IM UNLOCKED FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the help on this board, and I hope this helps others with this problem

I was able to unlock my iphone with T-mobile thanks to the help of this board but I was wondering about the auto-lock. I read somewhere, I can't remember, that I should set my auto-lock to Never. Is that necessary to keep the unlocked iphone working?
Thanks,
Brian

its not nessary but i think having it on is better coz sometimes you may forget to lock something can be started be mistake and in any case you will kill the battery if you do not lock it...
just lock it it doesn't affect anything...
