At last — copy & paste support for Mobile Safari!
Preston’s iCopy is installed as a bookmark utilizing JavaScript to enable copy/paste between websites. Before using iCopy, please make yourself aware of the pros and cons listed below. Namely the copying & pasting of sensitive data is a big no no; iCopy sends pasted text across the Internet in order to function properly. Nonetheless, awesome work.

Earle from iFone Arcade sent word the other day, Connect 4 is now iPhone-enabled and available for online play. Connect remotely with players from around the globe and line four of ‘em up to win. It’s a classic, you know what it’s all about. The concept is simple: (Wikipedia describes it best)
Connect Four (also known as Plot Four, Four In A Row, and Four In A Line) is a two-player board game in which the players take turns in dropping alternating colored discs into a seven-column, six-row vertically-suspended grid. The object of the game is to connect four singly-colored discs in a row — vertically, horizontally, or diagonally — before your opponent can do likewise.
Browse over to ifonearcade.com via Mobile Safari on your iPhone and/or iPod Touch. Register and enjoy.
Other games such as Battleship and Tic-Tac-Toe are available too.
Comments (2)Well I couldn’t word it any better myself… So here’s what Earle Davies has to say about their most recent update to the [new] peer-to-peer online iPhone arcade:
From the people who brought you the amazing p2p online game of battleship, comes the newest game in the lineup: tic-tac-toe. If you don’t have time to play the long game of battleship, playing a quick game of tic-tac-toe vs. a live person can pass the time. Hop on over to http://www.ifonearcade.com and checkout the newly redesigned battleship and newly created tic-tac-toe. Stat tracking for registered members and more features including an in-game chat are included. If you could please add this new tic-tac-toe and update the battleship link that would be awesome!
Absolutely brilliant! Don’t hesitate. Browse over to ifonearcade.com (via Mobile Safari) and start making a name for yourself. Games are compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch. If you end up against GregCube, it means your ass is grass, sucker.
Comments (2)“You sunk my battleship!” That’s what Snakesm13 is saying right about now. Good game dude — if you’re reading this…

Hop on your iPhone, or iTouch for that matter, fire up Mobile Safari and browse over to http://www.teamtpfl.com/iPhone.
Indulge in a classic game of Battleship against other players from around the globe. Place your ships wherever desired; shortly thereafter you’ll be connected to someone else waiting to play.
Props to Earle, Colin, and flygangsta. Nice work.
Enjoy!
P.S. Snakesm13, you best change your coordinates next time. ;)
Comments (1)Easier than chicken pot pie is an extremely simple method to jailbreak and get Installer.app on your 1.1.1 iPhone, for real…
A number of hackers — metasploit, rezn, dinopio, drudge, kroo, pumpkin, davidc, dunham, and NerveGas — have created and launched jailbreakme.com. While the Safari exploit remains unpatched, we’ll remain with a one-step solution to fully unleash the iPhone in all its glory. This works on the iPod Touch also.
The only prerequisite is an activated phone with working Wi-Fi; I typically fake activation using iNdependence. This isn’t necessary for iPod Touch owners.
AppSnapp feature list:
When you’re ready, browse to jailbreakme.com (via Mobile Safari) and follow the on screen instructions. Have fun!
Thanks for the tip dlr.
Comments (19)Update: Browse to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com on your iPhone 1.1.1 or iPod Touch and it will crash Safari… Only leaving you with full read+write access to the device’s file system! Don’t jump the gun though, I’d only recommend doing this if you have a good understanding of how all this stuff works. Niacin states a full tutorial and breakdown of the TIFF exploit will be available in the next day or so. Apple will more than likely patch said vulnerability in a future software update.
Still not available to the public; however, iPhone hackers Niacin & Dre have managed to combine the symlink hack with a newly discovered TIFF vulnerability found in Mobile Safari. When put into practice you’ll be granted full read+write access to the iPhone’s file system, and the iPod Touch for that matter. Engadget has confirmed this method to work, but there are a couple caveats…
- Thus far the hack isn’t entirely without issues. We’re still trying to determine exactly what’s what, but we’ve lost read and write access unexpectedly. This may or may not be a problem with our machine or device, though, and not necessarily the hack.
- We did not test this method on an iPhone, but technically there should be no difference in the effect. Side note: your v1.1.1 iPhone would, at this time, need to be activated to load the TIFF. (How else are you gonna load it?) This is supposedly being worked on.
Rest assure, once the kinks are worked out, we’ll have an easy do-it-yourself method to jailbreak any 1.1.1 iPhone. In the meantime, you know what to do, and it’s certainly not upgrading.
